Just HAVE to share!

WARNING: My sister says I am the worst at telling stories, so please bear with me~! She says I take wayyyy tooooo long! LOL

We have been reading different books written by Dr. Seuss and doing little activities each day to focus on the different books. Well, today I shared the book, Daisy-Head Mayzie, with the kids. I love this book and actually, it is one of my favorites. After I read the book, I told the kids that tomorrow the girls were going to be Mayzie and the boys would be Cat in the Hat.

I absolutely love how cute my Kindergarteners are! Well, I happened to check my email just a minute ago and I had 2 emails from parents about what their child needed to wear tomorrow. I love to laugh anyway and I just had to share an email I got from one of my parents tonight! I had the best laugh!

Email from parent: Hi Kelly. Cadee Grace says she is supposed to wear a pink dress with red shoes tomorrow?  Is this so?

My reply: Oh Lynnelle! Bless that sweet baby. I told them they were going to be Daisy-Head Mayzie tomorrow. She is a character in one of Dr. Seuss' books and they are going to have hats to wear. We are making them at school. I am so sorry!

The other email was from a Mom that saw Cadee and her Mom at gymnastics tonight...

Honestly, I cannot believe how literal these kids take me! This email was priceless.

I hope you all have a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday tomorrow....I have pictures to share from this week and I will definitely take pictures from the party tomorrow! Have a great Friday!

Happy Sunday!

Am I the only one in bloggy world that thinks the weekends pass by wayyyy tooooo quick? Somehow I doubt I am! I have been getting lots of things ready for this busy week at school. We are going to focus on Dental Health the beginning of the week. I bought this adorable craft last year from Christie at First Grade Fever and we are doing it again. I can't wait to show you how ours turned out!

On Wednesday we will start celebrating the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss! We are going to have a Wacky Wednesday on Wednesday. I shared the book, Wacky Wednesday with the class last week and sent home a note so the parents would know what to do to help their child in the celebration! Can't wait to share pictures from that either. I also bought this craft last year and we are doing it again....it turned out just adorable!

Anyway just wanted to share what we will be doing in my classroom this week! I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

I found some giveaways this weekend and thought I would share them with you too! I love entering giveaways....good luck!

Valentine Day's Celebration

On Thursday, Feb. 14, we celebrated Valentine's Day! The kids had a great day and loved getting to pass out their valentines to their friends. The kids got so many goodies, they had to put some things in their bookbags because their holders were too full!

The day began with students making a crown. They loved getting to pick out the cut outs to use on their crowns. They turned out adorable!

I sent home a letter for the February Family project in January. I wanted everybody to have enough time to make a holder for their valentines. I was impressed with how creative they were...and all 21 of my students made a holder! Yay! Such a success! I am so upset! I just noticed that I didn't take a picture of 3 of my students with their holders....dang. I guess I will send a message asking their parents to send their holders back so I can snap a picture of it!

These gals brought some of the stuff for our snack!

I hope you had a great day celebrating with your students.
I love Valentine's, the kids were so excited!
It was a like a "mini" Christmas!

100th Day of School Celebration!

On Wednesday, Feb. 6, we celebrated one of my very favorite classroom celebrations....it was the 100th day! I love how fun the day turned out for my sweet kids. They had a great time and how do I know this? Because they kept on telling me, "Mrs. Brown, this has been the best day ever!" Love it! So this is how it began....sorry, but there are plenty of pictures in this post. I love seeing pictures that you all post so I figured you wouldn't mind!

My students were greeted with this at the door. You wouldn't believe how much fun they had walking in and out of the door all day long! I had sent a note asking for parents to help their child with their 100th day project. They had choices too. Choice 1 was to dress how they think they will look when they are 100 years old. Choice 2 was to bring in a collection of 100 items to share with the class. Well, the turnout was UNBELIVEABLE! I had several students that did both. So here comes the pictures of the 100 collections. (I cannot get these pictures to line up; I apologize, but technology doesn't do right sometimes for me!)

100 butterflies and 100 heart marshmallows
100 wiggly eyes
front: I survived 100 days of Kindergarten

back of shirt: 100 sports balls on the back
100 pennies, craft sticks, pennies

100 gumballs, 100 fish

Now, here are the pictures of my precious bunch that dressed up like they were 100 years old. They were hilarious! I loved them all! I don't know why I am having so much trouble with adding my pictures, doggone it! I do not like it when stuff does not look neat! I guess this is one of those times for sure!

I love having fun days for my kids! Cannot wait until Valentine's Day!
